Press Release: Flatonia’s Czhilispiel 39 Music Line-up Released

NEWS RELEASE

Flatonia’s Czhilispiel 39 Music Line-up Released
Czhilispiel Continues the Tradition of Showcasing Texas Music with Wade Bowen Headlining

Flatonia, TX – July 13, 2011 – Flatonia Czhilispiel, the Central Texas chili, barbecue and music festival, has released the lineup for the town’s 39th Annual Czhilispiel Festival.  This year’s event welcomes back some bands proven to be popular with audiences at past festivals, and showcases some big names in Texas music.   The Flatonia Chamber is thrilled to announce Waco native, Wade Bowen as the headliner for Saturday’s concert series, with Red Dirt singer Brandon Rhyder opening.

The event, always set for the fourth full weekend of October, will take place this year from Friday, October 28 until Sunday, October 30, 2011, in historic downtown Flatonia, with live music all three days.  Saturday, October 29, 2011 will be the day that brings out the crowds for the “czhili” and barbecue cook-offs, and concert series on the main stage, housed in what has been dubbed the “largest tented biergarten in Texas.”
Opening night will feature country music from The Ross Brunner Band and local favorite, Broke 60, and Saturday’s opening acts include polka from the Dujka Brothers, and good time oldies from The Original Triumphs.  Brandon Rhyder opens the evening concerts, and headliner Wade Bowen will close out the night on Saturday.  Sunday will continue with music from the Charlie Lucas Band, and then more oldies covers from The Delta Fins.

Czhilispiel's Entertainment Chairman David Urban is really excited about the lineup and headliners.  He states, "I have tried for years to get Wade Bowen as our headliner and have finally succeeded.  He is dynamic and really puts on a good show.  Can’t wait to hear him myself in person!  You won't be disappointed.  Also, Brandon Ryder being the opener is really going to crank up the night  This will be the one of the hottest musical lineups for Czhilispiel to have as it covers music for every age group from 16 up to 86.  Whatever kind of music you want we will have it. As our saying goes, 'Czech Us Out!' "

In addition to the concerts and cook-offs, festival-goers can look forward to all the Czhilispiel attractions including the pie auction, jalapeno eating competition, arts and crafts market, carnival, parade, and much more.  For more information and updates about Czhilispiel, please visit the Flatonia Chamber website, www.flatoniachamber.com/czhili.
