You won't want to miss the festivities during Fayetteville's 36th Annual LICKSKILLET. 5k/1k Family Fun Run & Walk, live music, Saturday night street dance, parade, food, ice-cold drinks, kid's activities, vendors, special appearances by Houston Texans Cheerleaders, book signing by Award Winning author Beth Wiseman, raffles, Hay Bale Rolling, Skillet Tossing, and Hairiest Leg Contests. Fun for all ages!

	October 20 Lickskillet Family Fun Run - Saturday, October 20, 2012. The 1K starts at 8 AM. The 5K starts at 8:30 AM. T-shirt pickup and day of race registration begins at 7:30 AM. Fayetteville Lions Club will offer breakfast tacos beginning at 7 AM. Warm ups will be offered from 7:45-8:30 AM.Lickskillet Family Fun Run is a rural race which takes place during Fayetteville s Lickskillet Days Festival, a celebration of the area s German Czech heritage. In addition to the race, there will be plenty of food and drink, arts & crafts, music, and family friendly activities. Free parking. 	October 20-21 Lickskillet Days - You won't want to miss the festivities during the 36th Annual Lickskillet Days. On Oct. 20-21, Fayetteville, Texas will celebrate the area's German and Czech heritage. Arts & Crafts Vendors, Food, Cold Drinks, Kids' Activity Area, Hometown Parade, Live music by The Sowell Family Pickers and the Mike Stroup Band. Polka under the tent with Larry Sodek & The Central Texas Sounds, Kick up your boots with Southbound 955, and enjoy Robert Herridge & his German-Texas Band. Over the years, German and Czech immigrants called this small community home, naming and renaming it many times. At one time, Fayetteville was named Lick Skillet (Lickskillet). Supposedly, latecomers to the numerous community festivals, who complained that all the food was gone, were told to lick the skillet.
