A New Year with Fayetteville’s ARTS Includes Activities, Music Workshop, and ARTS Member Show

As the New Year kicks off, Fayetteville’s Arts for Rural Texas is already running with activities, programs, music, and shows for youth in the community.  Registration has officially opened for Winter Art After School—a free program thanks to the generous supporters of ARTS.   Deadline for registration of class sessions is January 10th with classes starting on January 17th and running through February 23rd.   Each class helps the student discover something new, whether it’s role-modeling, positive values, confidence of trying a new creative activity, or the importance of art itself.  Ages six through twelve may take advantage of this program, the program is first come, first serve, and children are bussed from school to ARTS, club, or center.

Music Workshop for Kids will be held January 14th for ages 5-11 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Ross Gallery at ARTS in Fayetteville.  Ron and Reta Rebstock of “Southern Light” will host this workshop for the youth.  Students will learn several sing-along songs and dances, play banjo tunes, participate in a show-and-tell on the banjo, guitar, and upright bass violin, and are able to have a close look and touch the instruments.  Participation is on a first come, first serve basis and is another free activity to the children of the community.  Deadline to register is January 11th.

In addition, the public is reminded of the ongoing Arts Member Show, with the exhibit running through January 28th, Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 am – 3 pm in the Ross Gallery at Arts for Rural Texas in Fayetteville.
