As always, Czhilispiel 38 will also offer festival-goers not only an impressive and exciting musical line-up, but also the famous "czhili" and barbecue competitions, Texas' largest tented beirgarten, pie auction, pageant, parade, a variety of arts, crafts, and food vendors, and much, much more. Chart-topping Texas Music Artist Stoney Larue to Headline
Flatonia, TX - June 15, 2010 – Czhilispiel 38, Texas’ second largest "czhili" cook-off, today announced its much-awaited musical lineup. Anticipation is building for this year’s festival, set for October 22-24, 2010. Saturday night’s concerts will be headlined by chart-topping Texas country artist Stoney Larue. Opening for him will be “rockin’ country” artist Mark McKinney.
“This years headliner is one of our best. Stoney is a dynamic performer, and with Mark Mckinney, will draw our biggest crowd yet. Our entertainment lineup has something to offer from ages 4 to 84. We encourage everyone to come out to Czhilsipiel for a fun filled family weekend,” states David Urban, area resident and Czhilispiel's entertainment chairman.
Czhilispiel will continue the tradition of showcasing Texas country music and highlighting its heritage with live polka. Returning to perform at Czhilispiel 38 are El Campo based polka band Red Ravens and local favorite Broke 60. The Logan Tucker Band will open the festival's concerts on Friday night, and rounding out the line-up are Chris Brade, the Scott Taylor Band, and Johnny Dee & Rocket 88s, performing throughout the weekend.
